I suffer from gout, now what ?

One day, I woke up and my foot was hurting. I thought I twisted it while I slept. On the first 1-2 days, I could limp along on my foot, but it wasnt getting any better. I tried ice, heat, tylenol, but still to no avail, it hurt. I then went on crutches, because the pain was unbearable. I have done a lot of research to find out what works and what doesnt. I have now found the right combination of food and drinks that I need to stay away from.

What self help remedies are there for gout?

I found out that my father had gout, but he had his under control. He suffered days and days with this pain. He had instructed me on what triggered his gout attacks.
